Paraneoplastic pruritus in a dermatological disease seen in association with an oral epidermoid carcinom. It has been demonstrated in a 13-year old cat with generalized pruritus, affecting mainly the distal limbs, was characterised clinically by self-induced lesions (alopecia, excoriations and crusts)[1].

Complete regression of pruritus was observed 5 days after removal of the tumour and persisted for 2 months. Local recurrence of the tumour led to reappearance of pruritus[2].

This syndrome is similar in clinical behavior to paraneoplastic exfoliative dermatitis, where removal of the neoplasia results in clinical remission of signs.
