Anne Jablonski is a lay person with a strong passion for feline nutrition. Her website, CatNutrition.org, was among a handful of sites created in the early part of this decade by lay people that were devoted exclusively to sharing information about healthy, natural feeding approaches for cats. Her interest in the topic came about after six exasperating years of trying to help her cat, Duke, with an intractable case of inflammatory bowel disease that left him with all diarrhea, all the time.

When all the mainstream techniques failed, she began her research and learned about Feline Future's groundbreaking work in the field and began corresponding with other experienced lay people who had extensive experience feeding raw food and strongly advocated it as a possible solution to Duke's ailments. Initially full of trepidation, but desperate to help a cat who was endlessly miserable, she tried several raw diets before she landed on "the answer" for her cat -- a home-prepared, completely vegetable-free, grain-free raw diet.

Her cat's symptoms disappeared overnight and she began diving more deeply into available literature on feline nutrition and its relationship to feline irritable bowel disease. Buoyed by Duke's seemingly miraculous turnaround, with the assistance and endorsement of Lisa Pierson, DVM, she assembled an open letter to veterinary professionals that laid out what she had learned and snail-mailed a copy of it, along with supporting documentation, to every veterinary school nutritional department in the United States. The letter was greeted with a deafening silence, and CatNutrition.org was born as a way of getting the word out to a broader audience online.

In October 2009, her once frail and very sick cat turned 15. He (and his sister) are still going strong and nothing but raw food has touched their carnivore lips in over 9 years.

Anne lives in the Washington, DC area with two extremely well-fed cats and a patient husband who wonders why he rarely gets to eat meat. Her passion is yoga but she works a "real" day job to help keep the cats' bellies full of organic, free range raw food.
